Free tool, no sign-up
Find the questions your bank is holding twice.
Paste your question bank and the tool groups the near-identical ones together, showing exactly what differs. Set how close counts as a duplicate, tick the version you want to keep, and download a cleaned list. Blank marks, missing chapter tags and stub questions are flagged too.

Your question bank
Columns in this order: question, marks, chapter, difficulty, type. Only the first column is required. Paste from Excel.
How close counts as a duplicate
Case, punctuation and spacing are ignored before anything is compared. Two questions are then scored on how many words they share, and short questions are also compared letter by letter, so a full stop or a changed comma cannot hide a repeat. Lower the threshold to catch looser rewrites, raise it to catch only near-identical text.
How the matching works
There is no AI and no external service. The measure is written out in the page script and you can read it. Text is lowercased, punctuation is dropped and spacing is collapsed. The tool then takes the share of words the two questions have in common, and for short questions also measures how many single character edits turn one into the other. The higher of the two scores is used.
It is a helper, not a judge. Read each cluster before you delete anything.
Summary
Paste a bank and press Find duplicates.
Duplicate clusters
Words that differ between the versions are highlighted. Tick the one you want to keep from each cluster.
Other problems
Not duplicates, but worth fixing before the bank is used to set a paper.
Export
The cleaned list is every question that is not a duplicate, plus the one you ticked in each cluster.
Nothing is uploaded
Your question bank is read by your own browser and never leaves your device. No account, no server, no AI. The comparison runs entirely on your machine.
